- the Truth ... Identifying what is really going on with this issue? (This helps break up the monopoly of media silos and public vitriol.)
- shared Vision... Clarifying the collective will. (This helps coordinate the values, actions and aims of philanthropies, government agencies, NGO's, corporations, and individuals)
- best Strategy ... Co-sensing what we need to do. (Even at the beginning of the ToBe Project when a symbolic voice of "We the People, speaks it is still a legitimate voice of the Public Interest.)
- holistic Awareness .... Recognizing that "the System," is a main cause of most Monster Problems. (This awareness often leads to new "holutions," answers to many problems at once.)
- "WE THE PEOPLE" ... Who "owns" the problem of "climate change?" Not the countries, or research scientists, or set of treaties. There is no owner to manage the problems and assure the well-being of the biosphere. Supposedly the missing owner is all of us together, but that doesn't exist. People often study the issue and say "We need to ..." (and then present their solution). Like they might assemble the world's leading experts to design the perfect global constitution, but who is the actor to say "We" will consider this for possible implementation? ... The ToBe Project facilitates into existence this wise, inclusive, powerful "We" into existence.
At first it's just a symbol of "We the People:" A random group is gathered to face a Monster issue; they reach shared conclusions; and present those conclusions back to the people. So here's a way for the proposed constitution to gain a hearing. As the conversation continues an exponentially growing number of people join in. And at some point there really is a "We the People" 1) an actor capable of implementing the new Constitution and 2) a new ultimate authority in any form of governance going forward. - Establishing a NEW NARRATIVE .... Even before a legitimate We the People arises a new overall narrative will come into place: We are all co-founders of a new System of Real Democracy ("of, by and for the people) where wise actions result, i.e. a "Wise Democracy." Because the new global conversation is in the spirit of choice-creating diversity is an asset, not a liability, in resolving Monster Issues and building the Next Society.
- INVOLVING, EDUCATING and EMPOWERING the People... The ToBe Project invites all people to participate in a respectful, creative conversation that achieves win/win results. After each Wise Democracy Council people feel energized. They want to contribute and to keep talking. Through this conversation people understand more about the Monster issues, how to help solve them, about the values of others, governance, economics etc.
- SYSTEM TRANSFORMATION. Our current system (e.g. capitalism, constitutional republics, authoritarianism, etc.) structures us to compete with one another, to focus on self-interest, to extract ever more "resources' from the planet and go to war when we disagree. The basic problem is ... there is little opportunity for collective thinking ... or collective intelligence.
The ToBe Project adds the missing "We the People" conversation to what already exists. Symbolically, it can start having an effect right away. But the end goal is for an inclusive wise and responsible "We the People" to assume ultimate leadership. Then the underlying basis of society changes from competition to trust and cooperation, not only a new system of governance, but economics as well. There are no specific changes other than we start thinking together but it's a new System. We call the system "ToBe -ism," beyond capitalism, socialism, feudalism, communism, and the like. - Accomplishing YOUR BIGGEST WISH ... What is your biggest wish for the world? Aim high!

- After writing your Wish, check out the "Monster Wish" and notice that in all likelihood this wish encompasses your wish. And since the Monster Wish will be achieved by the ToBe Project, your wish will be too.
- Re-membering CHOICE-CREATING. Our System establishes how we think, talk and make decisions. It's all about "making the decision" vs. "creating the choice." Decisions are made through power struggle and judgment (e.g. voting) with no collective thinking. The ToBe Project structures periodic moments of collective thinking in the spirit of choice-creating. This is what our ancient ancestors did in their wisdom councils. They used the Kiva, talking stick, ceremonies, stories, etc.. to assure that shared conclusions would result and that the process would build community rather than destroy it. Somehow this focus on "choice-creating" has been lost over time. But the ToBe Project brings it back, adding the missing whole-system conversation and the aspect of collective intelligence. - Just the idea of citizens identifying one particular issue to work on sets up a focus of attention e.g. the loss of democracies, political violence, climate change, etc.
- The random selection of people creates a living symbol of “the people" that reaches unity. This builds awareness of human diversity and increased wisdom through diversity.
- Once "the will of the people" is identified, public officials will increasingly become swayed because there is a new constituency: all-the-people-speaking-as-one.
The normal reaction to all this good news is crazy!
Here's an accessible answer ... a way to facilitate collective wisdom ... that affects all issues and all people. And there's no identifiable downside. But the usual reaction isn't "Yippie! Now there's an answer!" ... More likely it's some form of dismissal. (See "Getting It... this must happen")
