What actions are needed?

There are 8 accessible steps to implementing a "HOLUTION to the Human Predicament." With adequate resources and connections "We," just a few of us, can set this project in motion! Of course, all eight steps are required to set the Society's Breakthrough in motion. But, each step by itself is a benefit to society, as well.

Step 1 ...  Gather "Just Us" and adequate resources to begin the "ToBe Project"

"Just Us" are the people who recognize that societal transformation must happen if we are to escape from the Human Predicament, and that we can facilitate this transformation using the global Wisdom Council Process. ... Naturally, most of us want to stay in denial and not have to deal with these existential issues. Others pursue "solution" strategies, which seem logical because they are part of our system... e.g. street demonstrations, lobbying officials, modeling the new paradigm, elevated consciousness, civic education, new technologies, voting for better candidates, conscious purchasing choices, running for office, etc.  But these within-system strategies, even all together, cannot make the needed difference because the System itself  is the problem.... In this step a small but growing number of people recognize the Human Predicament, how it is causing today's existential problems, and how the global Wisdom Council Process offers a way forward, a path to collective intelligence.

Step 2 ... Then we identify a Monster Problem to address first

There are many urgent impossible-seeming problems that are worsening relentlessly, like the climate crisis, species extinction, loss of fresh water, and overpopulation. In this step we temporarily focus on one of these issues. This issue shouldn't be well-defined or even be seen as solvable. But it should be one that many people care about, for which a solution is needed. Specifying this issue can be done in many different ways... e.g. A global poll can pick the issue. Or the UN could identify one.  ... This step brings a focus of attention to one issue and orients people toward solution-seeking vs. debate or "ain't it awful"

Step 3 ... We randomly select 12-24 people from the global population

Here we identify 10 to 16 random people from the global population and bring them together as the first Wisdom Council. Of course, achieving an accurate random selection is impossible, but it's enough to do the best we can. A respected polling organization is asked to provide us with a legitimate symbol of all humanity to address the selected Monster Issue. ... This step helps us to see ourselves for the first time, like the first picture of earth from space. 

Step 4 ... We use Dynamic Facilitation to reliably evoke the spirit of "choice-creating" in each Wisdom Council

Each random group or "Wisdom Council" is gathered to meet for just a few days with someone skilled in Dynamic Facilitation. This is the magic sauce, not decision-making or problem-solving but choice-creating. It's stepping out of the existing system to think holistically and authentically, where the group achieves unity through shifts and breakthroughs. In this way the Wisdom Council co-creates a shared perspective and a story about how this diverse group achieved unity in the end. This story is similar to the "hero's journey," only the hero in this case is "all of us". This is ordinary people thinking through an impossible-seeming issue to determine  ... "the real problem," "the truth", "what we really want," and a wise strategy going forward. ... In this step the necessary choice-creating conversation begins. Rather building a social movement to do battle in the power struggle our system encourages, we seek to facilitate all the people into one conversation, seeking to discover the true "public interest." 

Step 5 ... We convene a live global "community meeting" where the Wisdom Council presents the story of its heroic journey & unified results

When the Wisdom Council finishes the members walk onstage and present their conclusions and story to a large live f-t-f and broadcast audience, and to video cameras for later viewing. The members tell a little about themselves, their conclusions and about how they reached their unified conclusions. This is not a presentation of recommendations or proposals to decision-makers, which is what one might think. This is a symbol of all the people sharing their unified conclusions in a reflection back to all the people, along with the story of their journey. It's what we all might fear, want and think. After the Wisdom Council finishes "audience members," wherever they are, talk with one another and surprise! Most people essentially say "Yes, I think so too."  So here's a quick way to achieve near unity throughout the entire global community. Yes, there will be people who don't hear and those who think differently but rather than just saying "I agree or disagree," they continue the conversation. This process sets up the missing essential conversation where "we, the people of the world" start talking in a way that real coherent, wise actions can result.  ... This step helps people realize that we are all working together in facing these difficult issues and in reaching shared in reaching shared conclusions about how to go forward.

Step 6 ... We structure global Wisdom Councils to be ongoing

The Wisdom Council Process facilitates ONE ONGOING WHOLE-SYSTEM CHOICE-CREATING CONVERSATION. This is a way to achieve "collective intelligence" at a very large scale. New random Wisdom Councils are gathered regularly to address the same or different Monster Problems. This ongoing process facilitates into being a new global "We the People" conversation. As more people attend to and participate in the new conversation this becomes a STRUCTURAL ADDITION to the current System.... This step establishes a new all-inclusive creative "We the People" conversation that reaches unified conclusions. It's a new level of   collective intelligence at the global level. 

Step 7 ... We provide for the new global conversation to be inclusive of all

 As the global Wisdom Council Process continues, we expect that individuals, experts, leaders, media, celebrities, etc.  will increasingly pay attention. Especially when there is a global crisis ... like a pandemic or the Russian invasion of Ukraine, or horrible climate events ... people need to get involved in a heartfelt respectful whole-system conversation, which can turn into meaningful action. Then people will have a way to learn what's really happening, what is needed and how we can respond together.  Anyone can join. Everything is voluntary.  ...Step 7 provides a way for each person, NGO, corporation, philanthropy, government, etc. to get involved in helping solve these big issues.

Step 8 ... We provide ways for all to learn the underlying holistic mode of thinking, choice-creating, skills to evoke it and holistic model of change

The benefits claimed for the Wisdom Council Process can seem over-the-top, almost magical. But we generally don't need to describe these benefits and sell the process ahead of time. We can just convene the new conversation where people experience the difference. And then help people to understand what is different, how this conversation achieves miraculous-seeming results. It's like taking the Red Pill in the movie The Matrix and then learning the skills for operating in this new reality. Some new understandings include the distinction between "decision-making" and "choice-creating." And the different kinds of democratic process.  ... Step 8 can help people to face and solve personal issues and feel empowered in the face of difficult societal issues.

Besides benefits arising from each of individual Step, immense benefits will arise naturally from the whole package—like transforming the existing System so that Monster Problems can start to be solved and stop arising

Currently, global governance is a pipe dream. The United Nations is hopelessly divided and bureaucratic with no power to enforce their will. And treaties among nations are regularly ignored. But without some form of global governance, there is no way to manage the global commons. These 8 steps promise the emergence of an ongoing "We the People" (i.e. all of us acting intelligently together) with the capability, for instance, to structure a global system that can design and establish a  global constitution. These systemic changes are natural outcomes of the process, where "We the People" start to responsibly manage our situation.
