Transformation is a different process than design. The design model of change arises from the Metaphysics of Subject-Object. There is a designer (Subject) and a system that was designed (Object). The Wise Democracy project is different. It is transformational in that our existing system evolves itself into a new System over time. ... And part of this new System is a new Actor, We the People, capable of designing a new Constitution.
In the image below the Box, System is a constitutional republic. It was designed by the founders 250 or so years ago. And we have been living inside it since then. This System structures how we talk, how we think, and the kinds of decisions we make. In fact, it determines that we will "make decisions" instead of "create the choices." The Wisdom Council Process begins as just another Circle process within the larger, official Box System (e.g. Dialogue groups, Supportive teams, Participative leadership, etc.) But as Wisdom Councils continue eventually people start to think of "Real Life" as not being their lives within the Box but what we are all considering in the Wisdom Councils, the Truth about issues, how we want to live, etc., only in this circle group we are symbolically "all the people" and ever greater numbers of people are joining in with us. At some point most all of us are participating in this "We the People" conversation, where we really are the ultimate authority. Obviously as "We the People," We can change the Box or design a whole new one.
