Society's Breakthrough

Do you believe that our society is unsustainable? ... Many people have come to this realization. ... And do you believe that for it to become sustainable the paradigm of thinking, the mythology of society, the socio-political-economic system, the attitudes and behaviors of all the people need to change? ... Society's Breakthrough promises a safe, simple way to facilitate this essential transformation. Society's Breakthrough is the application of the Wisdom Council Process to society itself. Ideally this would happen for the world system, but it also should happen for each nation. Ultimately it should be a Constitutional change. See the Wise Democracy Amendment.

This desired result sounds too big and idealistic but it's not. In fact, the real idealism is to think that our current system can work as we become ever more interdependent. SB essentially:

1. Calls "time out!" and invites everyone in society to gather in one conversation
2. Facilitates people a new conversation where people face the big issues creatively and collaboratively and determine shared perspectives
3. Helps everyone to realize that this perspective really is shared by everyone, so that elected leaders, organizations and people can voluntarily and simultaneously start implementing these new understandings
4. Repeats the process every couple of months so that the conversation is ongoing.

Notice this makes no coercive changes. Notice too that it essentially creates an ongoing Constitutional Convention with all of us as delegates, where we are all co-founders of the next society.

Many benefits will arise:

• A shared understanding of key issues, a vision of what we want and how to get there
• Better policy decisions enacted
• A new spirit of community and trust in one another
• Strong direction to government, more efficient government, more trust in government
• Widespread culture change —to live more by human values instead of corporate values
• Specific improvements in our institutions and systems like money, taxes, justice, and the Constitution itself
• A new system of democracy (Wise Democracy ) where "We the People" (everyone included) is ultimately in charge.
