Jim Rough, creator of the Wisdom Council, and Ned Crosby, creator of the Citizens Initiative Review, presented their social innovations at the international conference: “Innovations in Community Engagement: Interactive Learning with World Experts," held in Perth, Australia, May 30-31, 2005.
The Port Townsend Food Co-op experimented with the Wisdom Council for three cycles and sparked a new culture of cooperation in the proces. The first meeting was held in early 2005. A fifteen minute streaming video depicts what happened.
The Center for Wise Democracy conducted a key experiment with the Wisdom Council with the help of three citizens in the Rogue Valley of Oregon. A research paper was written by Elliot Shuford describing this experiment. His paper, Innovations in Democracy: An Evaluation of the Rogue Valley Wisdom Council , is available as a pdf file.

5) Experiment: Pleasantville NY.
Consultant, Nancy Rosanoff encouraged the town council of Pleasantville NY to begin a Wisdom Council process beginning in the fall of 2001. During Nov 15-16, 2002 the second cycle was held. Here's Jim Rough's report on what happened. Also see her initial presentation to the town council.
6) Experiment: In Port Townsend, WA.
The city council sponsored a short, two-hour demonstration on local tv. The concept worked great but the city council backed away from implementing the process. Here are some articles about the process from the Port Townsend Leader
